Ordinary Things

Last fall I spoke at the Cusp Conference in Chicago. Hands down it was the most interesting and inspiring conference I’ve attended from either side of the stage. Each presentation had to be kept to under 20 minutes, but other than that there were no restrictions. Slam poetry, industrial design, politics, Rube Goldberg contraptions, school reform, nutrition, and “how to be black” were all up for consideration and presented with passion and playfulness and courage.
